Important information

How much walking is there?

We’ll be on our feet for most of the tour, and there are some stairs. The ferry ride over has some limited seating, and at Liberty Island, your guide will lead you on a walking tour of the grounds to point out the different sights. If mobility is an issue, please arrange for a private tour.

Is this tour accessible?

This tour is accessible for strollers and wheelchairs.

How long is the tour?

The guided portion of the tour is about 2 hours. You can stay as long as you want after the tour ends at Liberty Island and return to Battery Park when ready. Total time should be about 3 hours, but allow an extra hour if you plan to visit Ellis Island on your own. Your ferry ticket back to Manhattan is included with this tour.

What can we bring?

You should plan for security screenings before entering the ferry. Persons and property are subject to search. Prohibited items include weapons, locking blades, tools, non-folding umbrellas, tripods, laptops, tablet keyboards, coolers, luggage, drones, sewing kits, lighter fluid, and anything propelled by aerosol.

Are the museums on Liberty and Ellis islands included in this tour?

The National Park Service doesn’t allow any guiding inside the Statue of Liberty Museum. Your guide will give you a thorough introduction to the museum so you can explore it on your own and know what to look for. The guided portion of this tour doesn’t include Ellis Island, where the immigration museum is located, since this is an express trip, though you’re welcome to visit on your own. If you’d like to visit Ellis Island with our guide, we recommend our Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Guided Tour.

What is the rescheduling policy?

We understand plans change. You can always change your tour 24 hours or more before you tour. We offer a 100% refund up to 24 hours prior to your tour start time. Within 24 hours of your tour, we would have incurred hard costs and therefore cannot allow rescheduling or cancellation without costs.

What if it rains?

Our tours run rain or shine, so please check the local forecast to plan. In rare cases when we have to cancel for extreme weather, we’ll offer you the chance to reschedule or give a full refund.

What about gratuities?

Tips are always appreciated but never expected. They’re a great way to tell your guide they did an awesome job and show your appreciation.

More information

Join us for a time-efficient yet immersive visit to the Statue of Liberty to make the most of your time in NYC. Our reserved-time ferry tickets and structured itinerary are the fastest way to visit Lady Liberty while making sure you don’t miss anything of this powerful symbol of freedom. And your entertaining guide will make your trip both memorable and stress-free. Your tour starts at Battery Park, where you’ll meet your guide at Castle Clinton. This is a landmark in its own right: Castle Clinton is a historic fort once considered as a possible site for the Statue of Liberty. Then it’s all aboard a ferry to Liberty Island. We’ll have an early reserve-line access ticket for you so you can avoid the crowds. On the ride over, you’ll learn about the history of the Statue of Liberty and how perceptions of this symbol have changed over the years. Once at Liberty Island, your guide will show you the grounds and tell you more about what you will see inside the Statue of Liberty Museum. Following the guided portion of your tour, you’ll have time to visit the museum. It’s pretty cool — it contains “flames” from Lady Liberty’s torch, some of the statue’s original structure, and more. If there’s room in your schedule, you can also make a stop on your own at Ellis Island before returning to Battery Park. The island is home to the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration, located in the main building of the former immigration complex where so many immigrants made their first stop here in America.
