Important information

How much walking is there?

There’s 2-3 miles of walking at a moderate pace. If you’re traveling with a stroller or wheelchair, the High Line also has elevator access instead of stairs, but we can’t guarantee the elevator will be working. This can be modified if a private tour is booked.

Can I do the SoHo, Little Italy, Chinatown Walking Tour at 12 p.m. after this tour?

Yes, you will have enough time to get from this tour to the SoHo, Little Italy, Chinatown Walking Tour. This tour ends at 11:30 a.m. Take the nearby downtown C or E train just two stops to Spring Street where the SoHo, Little Italy, Chinatown Walking Tour begins. Feel free to ask your guide for help.

What is the rescheduling policy?

We understand plans change. You can always change your tour 24 hours or more before you tour. We offer a 100% refund up to 24 hours prior to your tour start time. Within 24 hours of your tour, we would have incurred hard costs and therefore cannot allow rescheduling or cancellation without costs.

When should I get there?

Plan to show up 15 minutes early. The tour starts promptly, and you may not be able to catch up if you arrive late.

What if it rains?

Our tours run rain or shine, so please check the local forecast to plan. In rare cases when we have to cancel for extreme weather, we’ll offer you the chance to reschedule or give a full refund.

Are gratuities included?

Tips are always appreciated but never expected. They’re a great way to tell your guide they did an awesome job and show your appreciation.

More information

Begin your morning with a stop in the world-famous Chelsea Market, an abandoned factory converted into the city’s best food court. Then climb up to the gray steel truss of the High Line, a park built atop an elevated railway, running for over a mile up the West Side. View unique art installations, urban meadows, and incredible vistas weaving between and through buildings. Bring your camera! Next, we’ll head south as your guide introduces you to the Meatpacking District. This industrial area was reclaimed first by the counterculture of the 1980s, then later by New York’s wealthy elite. Marvel at some of Manhattan’s most iconic architecture, like Frank Gehry’s glittering glass curtain design for the IAC Building and the famous art deco skyscraper, the Empire State Building. As you walk, you’ll hear about the homes lost in New York’s real estate boom, the architecture preserved almost by accident, and a city that’s constantly reinventing itself. Explore this neighborhood in flux, and witness firsthand the ever changing identity of NYC.
